Translations are invoiced according to the number of computer written
lines resulting in the target language text. Only complete lines are
counted, i.e. partial or incomplete lines are brought together to form complete
standard lines. A special line count program is used to determine the number
of lines.
This special program is also used to estimate the number of lines for quotes when
source texts are supplied as files. The printed text of source documents available
only as printouts is scanned and converted to a file with the help of OCR
(optical character recognition) and subsequently counted by the line count
software to determine the approximate number of standard lines.
Just give us a call or email your text – we'll be happy to send you an estimate!
